House Votes to Finance Government Instead of Health Care

The House of Representatives recently approved a plan to help the economy by funding government operations through December 15th. The tradeoff is that they will be pulling all funds from Obamacare.

The Republican-run House has been firmly against Obama's health care law from the start, and this is an easy way for them to "stick it to the man," or at least to the Democrats in government.

The Republicans will have a hard time getting official approval for their plan because of the Democratic Senate and President Obama himself, both of whom still have to vote on the proposal. Nearly every Democrat in the House voted against the idea.

In response to the backlash, Republican House Speaker John Boehner said, "The House has listened to the American people. Now it's time for the United States Senate to listen to them as well."

Rob Andrews, a Democratic representative from New Jersey, said, "This is like the movie Fatal Attraction. This is an obsession."

Many Republicans are against Obamacare but believe the government should continue to be open for business. They are waiting to see what comes back from the Senate.

For now, we must all wait and watch for something to happen, as this will have an impact on our lives, as well as our finances. Health care vs. government funding--the battle no one saw coming.
